The product, in the report: Millivolt gas valve to control burner gas for various appliances and/or equipment for heating, cooking, baking, commercial/industrial processes, etc.
I’m not sure this has been reported already. A few of our technicians reported the following unsafe conditions with 5 Robertshaw millivolt gas valves (part # 7000MVLC): First condition - with each valve body it appears to be missing a gasket at the bottom of the magnetic head. With the gasket missing, it causes a sizeable gas leak when the control knob is turned to the “ON” position, after lighting the pilot (magnetic head is set). Second condition - After the pilot is lit, full burner gas will be sent to the burner as soon the knob is turned to the “ON” position, even when the burner coil is not energized by the thermostat, creating a runaway condition.
