The product, in the report: This is an LP gas Even Cook Convection Oven/stove

On 07/26/2012 at approximately 12:15PM my youngest daughter age 12 set our stove to “Preheat”. There was an explosion that then occurred within a minute or two. I was at work when I received a frantic call from my eldest daughter and called a friend two houses down to go to my home. He determined that there was a late ignition of gas and that an explosion occurred. He shut off the gas to the stove. The explosion blew 4 LB grates off of the stove - one about two feet into the air where it knocked the overhead exhaust. The oven door was blown open and the unit moved several inches away from the wall by the force of the explosion. Cabinet doors in the kitchen were blown open. There were no injuries and no other apparent property damage, however had my daughter been standing next to the stove - I have no doubt she would have been injured. I also believe that had the oven door been locked (clean mode) that the explosion might have been catastrophic.

[REDACTED] a manager at Frigidaire offered nothing more than sending out a technician (at my expense) to determine the cause of the problem. I told him, I am NOT looking for a free repair or a free replacement. That Frigidaire needs to be serious and investigate this incident. I can’t be the only owner of a nine yr old stove that has issues. He indicated that there is nothing his company will do.
