No one hurt Made Sep 3, 2012, sent to the company Sep 11, 2012, published by CPSC Oct 2, 2012
The product, in the report: Premier 36” Gas Stove/Oven
New Premier 36” gas stove/oven with electonic igniter. When you turn the knob to light the burner, the first position is the ignition position, and sparking takes place. The next position is high flame. There is no pushing of the knob necessary to move the knob to the high position. If you turn the knob just a tiny bit past the igniter position, gas will flow freely out at a high rate and very quickly build up in the room even though the burner did not ignite. If you realize that you have turned the burner too far, and have gas building up, the only option to stop the gas flow is to turn the knob through the igniter position to the off position. This will likely cause the built-up gas to ignite causing a flash which could cause a serious fire or seriously burn the user.
