WE HAD THANKSGIVING DINNER WITH MY FAMILY AND WENT TO BED EARLY. ABOUT 7PM MY DAUGHTER WHO HAS A KEY TO MY HOUSE CAME OVER AND IMMEDIATELY SMELLED GAS. SHE WOKE US UP WE WENT OUTSIDE FOR AIR. THEN RETURNED TO FIND OUT THE A KNOB ON MY GAS STOVE WAS ON AND LEAKING GAS. WE COULD HAVE DIED FROM CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING OR EVEN AN EXPLOSION. MY KNOBS ON MY GAS STOVE ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE AND CAN TURN ON GAS WITH YOU WALKING BY THE STOVE, LEANING TO USE MICROWAVE ABOVE STOVE, GETTING SOMETHING FROM UPPER CABINET, A CHILD CAN EASILY TURN ON GAS, AND EVEN THE DOG CAN TURN ON KNOBS FOR GAS. THERE ARE NO SAFETY STANDARDS FOR THIS AND ALL BRANDS OF STOVES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. HUNDREDS OF ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE NEWS TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE HAVE THIS INDUSTRY PROVIDE SAFE KNOBS THAT ARE NOT EASILY TURNED ON AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THESE UNSAFE AND POTENTIAL DEADLY KNOBS.
