No incident, no one hurt Made Aug 23, 2024, sent to the company Aug 28, 2024, published by CPSC Sep 12, 2024
The product, in the report: Insignia 24” Stainless Steel Propane RV Range, Model: #NS-RNG24SS9
I purchased a 2021 Grand Design RV with an Insignia brand propane range. The original range was apparently defective and the oven pilot would not stay lit and the oven did not function. After months the range was replaced at the end of the 1 year warranty on the trailer. The propane oven has been used less than 10 times since it was replaced and the oven gas valve will no longer rotate to the OFF position. Insignia informed us that the oven is no longer being manufactured and parts are unavailable for repairs. Grand Design says it is not their problem as the 1 year warranty has expired. According to internet searches, the oven not staying lit and the gas valve failure to rotate to the OFF position are known problems. The propane range is not SAFE and unusable and the manufacturers refuse to acknowledge this is a problem.
