The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 1, 2024, sent to the company Mar 6, 2024, published by CPSC Mar 20, 2024

The product, in the report: 40 in. Double Oven Dual Fuel Italian Range, Brass Trim.

Hallman-Ilve 40” dual fuel range was purchased new from Hallman Industries in Smithville TX. On first use the oven was not holding at temperature set, varying by hundreds of degrees. I was told the new appliance needed a new thermostat. Upon receipt and installation, the oven still does not hold temperature. I turn it off when it approaches 500 degrees. This is a setting the manufacturers manual states should not be exceeded on certain settings. When opening the oven door, it’s like a furnace blast regardless of the temperature it’s been set at. You cannot look directly at the door when opening, having to open while standing to the side, due to the extreme heat that hits you in the face. This has been ongoing since October of 2023. My daughter recently opened the larger oven door and a blast of heat hit her in the face so extreme it caused her to jump backwards into another appliance. She had to cool her face with a wet cloth. This oven gets so hot, it feels unsafe to operate in my home. We stand at the oven constantly measuring the temperature with a thermal thermometer, opening the door to lower the temperature, and then only close it when it drops or we have to turn the oven off. We’re not able to reliably cook in the oven. The burners also blow themselves out sporadically. Only one burner consistently operates.
