The product, in the report: Haier Gas Range 24 in. 2.9 cu. ft. Gas Range with Convection Oven in Stainless Steel https://www.homedepot.com/p/Haier-24-in-2-9-cu-ft-Gas-Range-with-Convection-Oven-in-Stainless-Steel-QGAS740RMSS/306286591#product-section-overview Model QGAS740RMSS
This report concerns a gas range manufactured by Haier and distributed by Home Depot. The model number is QGAS740RMSS.
I purchased the range at Home Depot in November 2020. After using it, I discovered that the front of the range, including the metal control knobs for the stove and oven, become extremely hot when the oven is on. I believe it is unsafe.
I contacted a GE technician, who attributed the problem to a faulty design. According to the technician, heat escapes the oven door through poorly placed ventilation slats in the oven door. In addition, the door doesn’t close very tightly, allowing heat to escape through the top of the door.
I used a meat thermometer to measure the heat of the control knobs. After the oven was on for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature of the control knobs approached 170 degrees -- too hot to touch.
I reported the problem to Home Depot in a customer review of the product. At the latest count, the review has been rejected three times due to liability or regulatory concerns. As a result, the product on Home Depot continues to display excellent ratings, with 91% of customers recommending.

The product, in the report: Haier COMPACT GAS Range- Oven
This was a new purchase of a Haier gas range. The first time the oven was used, The roasting pan had been sitting on the 3rd position in the oven, the rack collapsed when taking a 15 lb roast out of the oven spilling the juices in the pan all over the oven door, lower cabinets to the right and kitchen floor barely missing my leg. In a second incident the rack that was placed in the 2nd position didn’t hold the weight of a 17 lb turkey after the oven was pre-heated. Out of necessity, The turkey had to be cooked on the bottom of the oven. In a 3rd incident the rack on the 2nd position collapsed on to the bottom of the oven when a heavy cake pan was placed on it.
