  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 17, 2020, sent to the company Jul 21, 2020, published by CPSC Aug 4, 2020

The product, in the report: GE Adora 5.0 cu.ft Gas Range with self cleaning convection oven in stainless steel Model JGB720SEJSS

The oven was not in use and we smelled a very strong gas smell. My husband and son immediately pulled the stove out and checked for leakage with soap and water at the connection in the back of the stove. No leak was found however they immediately closed the propane tank connected to the home. I called HOME DEPOT, who transferred me to GE repair. the oven is 11 months old. We were scheduled out 10 days to have the oven looked at. I repeatedly explained the severity of the gas smell and was told there was nothing they can do and call back tomorrow. Monday 6/15/2020 I called back first thing in the morning, after waiting over an hour on the phone, I again wad told there was nothing they can do. I explained the severity of the gas leak and the rude individual then stated that I needed to have clearance to come in the house and to call the fire department to clear their repair man from any safety issues. I asked what about the consumer’s safety? the person [REDACTED NAME] then told me to call Consumer Affairs to report a safety issue. I called consumer relations and spoke to [REDACTED NAME] . She requested if there was any personal injury or property damage. She also offered to provide us with a check for $60 allowing us to buy a burner for our inconvenience? [REDACTED] then said scheduling is closed and they would definatley call us first thing in the morning to have someone come in sooner. Today is 6/17/2020 and I not only never received a phone call back, I called the number again and after waiting for an hour the representative in repair stated I had to call dispatch and they opened at 9:00 am. I am on hold again for over an hour waiting for any answer. Why would I want a stove repaired that leaks gas? we paid $650 for a stove with a $160 five year extended warranty. We want a safe oven and our $160 extended warranty refunded.
