The product, in the report: GE Adora https://www.geappliances.com/appliance/GE-30-Free-Standing-Gas-Convection-Range-with-No-Preheat-Air-Fry-JGB735SPSS Model JGB735SPSS
Purchased a GE Adora JGB735SPSS Nov 19, 2020.
Evening of 4/17, I cooked a frozen pizza at 425 for 12 minutes. At the end of that, i noticed some burnt cheese on the bottom that was smoking. I let the stove cool, wiped up the burnt food and used the steam clean function on the oven. I put 1 cup of cold water on the bottom of the stove tray as described in the manual. After closing the door, I hit the steam clean button, expecting it to take 30 minutes. I then went to my garage to work for a few hours. When I came back, the temperature in the kitchen air was well over 100 degrees (about 70f outside), the cork flooring in my kitchen had buckled significantly, the control panel was over 180deg F, the top of the range was over 135F and the control panel had melted perceptibly. The steam cycle was still going and the temp at the oven was well over dangerous. Most distressingly, the thermal cutoff fuse apparently did not trip. I have photos of the damage as well as pictures of the temp of the oven during the event.

The product, in the report: Adora GE gas range convection Model Jgb720sej3ss
I have an Adora 5.0 gas range. I normally love gas stoves and this one had self cleaning feature. The knobs peeled the silver and the lower drawer is so light it has difficulty shutting straight so always requires two hands to keep it from derailing. For two years I struggled with fire alarms going off every time I warmed a can of veggies on the stove. I had to use vent fan, and a kitchen fan even with something like a grilled cheese. Two years I cooked with this stove ...one Saturday I turned the oven in and next thing I know the underside of the oven tray...below the bottom, where’s the grills light,... suddenly was on fire and billowing smoke. We put it out with water and husband was quick to blame my cooking spills. After removing the tray he found a pile of dog kibble...charred to little black briquettes. But there were no drips to explain the fire. We cleaned up and vacuumed out . Had pizza that night and guests mentioned a slight smell of gas. The next morning, the residual smell of pizza so I lit a candle. All day.
Two day’s later a friend walks into my house and insisted I call the gas company. I did. He arrived and after checking out furnace, fireplace and lines to house ..l all’s well! Except the stove. It’s leaking gas from burners, knobs, the cracks of the oven, the oven it self. it was horrendous. My stove got red tagged ! It sure explains my extreme sleepiness during the day.

The product, in the report: GE gas range
I had a GE gas range model JQB760SEF2SS purchased 6/21/2015. This range has not been used very much. I turned on the self clean function for the first time on 12/9/2017. The oven was only lightly soiled and the range top has never had any notable spills so there was no accumulation anywhere of food spills or grease. After about 3 hours into the 4 hour cleaning cycle, there was heavy smoke. I was able to turn off the gas, disconnect the range and pull it away from the cabinets and move it towards a door to the outside of the house. At that point, open flames were visible underneath the range top, between the top of the oven and the stove top. I called the Amesbury Fire Department, the range was still burning when they arrived and they were able to extinguish the flames.
The gas and electrical connections underneath the range top, to the burners, were completely burned out and the stove is a total loss.
If I had not known how to disconnect the range or had been unable to do so and to move it, the gas could have exploded and burned down the house. Many homeowners would not have the knowledge, skills and strength to promtly disconnect and move the range under those conditions. It was terrifying.

The product, in the report: GE Adora gas range,
GE Adora gas range (Model JGB720EEJ1ES) with 2 issues:
1. Very hot on the upper rear of the range when using broiler--service technician (GE authorized) tested it at 480 Degrees (and still rising) with infrared sensor before shutting it down for safety reasons. This is the second range with this problem--the first one was serviced by a different GE authorized tech for the same issues, then replaced because problem couldn’t be resolved. Both service technicians voiced concerns regarding fire hazard and potential to damage the range’s circuit board and advised us to keep the range pulled out away from the wall until problem could be resolved.
2. Excessive smoke and fumes when first used, to the point of burning eyes, coughing, having to open windows for a few hours to disperse. The smoke came from front of range and even more from the back of the range. Service tech stated that the smoke from the rear could be from burning insulation around the vent duct. This problem actually occurred with 3 ranges, all the same model--the 2 mentioned above, and a previous one that was the original range we received but was replaced because it wasn’t the color we ordered. I don’t recall using the broiler on that original range so don’t know if it had the heat problem.
(GE is replacing our range with a different model due to repeated problem with this model.)

The product, in the report: GE Adora 30 in. Gas Range in Stainless Steel with Convection Bake and Convection Roast
My husband and I purchased a new Adora GE stainless steel gas range from Home Depot in Saratoga Springs, NY, on 04/09/14. Sunday night, 12/27/15, my husband placed a pizza into the oven at 400 degrees. About 20 minutes later he heard an exploding sound when he noticed that the 3rd inner-most layer of glass inside the oven door had exploded and shattered leaving millions of particulate, jagged glass all over the inside floor and ceiling of the oven appliance.
I am very concerned over this, as it could have been extremely dangerous had he opened the door at or just before it exploded and caused him serious possibly even fatal injury. We had to carefully remove the glass and vacuum it up and vacuum the inside of the oven, so that the glass would not fall all over the place and so we could shut the oven door. Now I am worried that there is still tiny particles stuck in the fan that may blow back into our food even after we have had this issue repaired causing more worry and concern. I contacted GE consumer relations and spoke to a case manager who offered to waive the trip charge of a local major appliance repair center, A&E. She was very short and curt with me telling me that she would not be able to cover glass and parts until the service person had given her his “findings”. I asked her what she would need to know from the technician before GE would take responsibilty for the stove and pay for the glass and labor? How would his findings be any different than what my husband and I had seen? and she could not answer that question, all she kept saying was that “the technician needs to see the stove first so that we know what step we need to take next.” She could not answer the question and kept placing me on hold like she was looking for guidance in answering every question I asked of her. The consumer manager I dealt with was named [REDACTED] and she never once offered any condolences for my troubles or inconvenience or hardship. Though out of warranty of 1 year, this appliance is obviously in need of being recalled due to the fact that the glass cannot withstand normal oven temperatures. It is only just under two years old and I have never ever heard of something like this happening before, until I read several complaints online. I feel it is my responsibility to let other people know of this incident, to hopefully prevent any future danger to anyone else, on top of the fact that the oven cost us just under $1000. And if the company is aware of the glass having this tendency, they should be willing to at least extend the warranty on this part of the stove as to not inconvenience people further. Besides the fact that the stove was expensive. They should be willing to pay for an upgrade in glass in the oven, glass that can withstand 400-500 degrees without exploding. Now we are waiting on a January 6th, 2016 appointment that GE is paying for, for a repairman from A&E appliance to assess the situation and reveal to GE what caused the glass to break so they can figure out what to do next. Whether that be, paying for the glass and labor, which they most certainly should do and [REDACTED] could not give me an answer on that question of whether or not this would be covered.
