The product, in the report: JGBS30DEKWW model GE free standing gas range has a major design flaw. A person has to turn the knob all the way on before the igniter ignites the range. This can be exacerbated by elderly people who have difficulty with their sense of smell. I cannot smell anything and have bumped the knob and almost blown up my home on 3 occasions. I do not smell the gas and have left the room with the knob in the on position only to have my son tell me it’s on. I honestly believe this range is dangerous. My old range never had this problem. The igniter came on with a clicking noise as soon as you turned it on. Having the burner/igniter on my GE range have to be turned all the way on before it starts to click is not how it should be for maximum safety.
