As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 17, 2023, sent to the company Apr 20, 2023, published by CPSC May 4, 2023

The product, in the report: Blomberg kitchen gas stovetop and oven

Oven reached in excess of 900 degrees regardless of settings, locked, incinerated food, melted pots. Could not regulate temperature. Too hot to touch. Singed eyebrows and burnt hands. Knobs too hot too touch. Stove handle too hot but also locked. Bought with extended warranty which seller refused to accept. Seller Refused to provide help in locating a repair service to fix. Manufacturer referred me to distributor to get repair help. Given names of defunct services unwilling to repair Blomberg brand. Found local service people to repair and get parts for four series of repairs to igniter, thermocouple, temperature regulator circuits, and main oven board. Repairs failed to fix concerning problem after 4 months and these expensive multiple repairs. Seller was least helpful. Distributor finally affected buyback of stove if we paid for disposal because seller refused to unhook and remove the unit. Expecting a refund for a few weeks now and delivery of a stove by a different manufacturer.

The product, in the report: Stand alone Gas Range/oven

Beginning in February of 2022 My Blomberg gas range began malfunctioning (model#BGRP34520SS). The gas oven kept firing gas every minute or so even though it had reached the desired temperature. Blomberg sent a replacement part that had the same serial number as the current part but it looked different. When installed, it caused my gas burners and my oven to turn themselves on and light at full blast while the oven was technically off. This being an obvious hazard to blow up my house and myself, we disconnected the part and the range. Blomberg indicates that they can keep sending the same part eventhough it is obviously different from my current one. The refuse to assist the technician further. This oven was manufactured in 2018. I can get no response from the Blomberg support website and am left with a fire hazard.
