No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 12, 2023, sent to the company Jul 14, 2023, published by CPSC Jul 28, 2023
The product, in the report: ZLINE 36” 4.0 cu. ft. Induction Range with 4 Element Stove and Electric Oven in Stainless Steel (RAIND-36
We have a 9 month old Zline induction range.Unlike every other range I have ever seen, the top of this one is not sealed where the glass meets the metal body of the range. This has been a concern of mine since we received the unit and I contacted the company numerous times about it. They assured me it was “sealed” underneath so any spills would not be a concern. Just about every week I have to clean food and junk from these little openings. Last week I was cooking pasta and the pot overflowed. Some of the water went into the openings and almost immediately we could smell a “burnt electronics” smell. It got worse and within a couple mins we saw flickering reflected from the vents on the underside of the control panel on the front of the unit. We could see flames through the vents. My son turned off the breaker and we sprayed up into the vents and down through the gap with a kitchen fire extinguisher. Clearly it was not “sealed” and the pasta water got into the electronics, probably taking food and/or grease with it.
