The product, in the report: Induction Cooktop

The consumer ordered an induction cooktop from Evine Live about a month ago. The consumer received a broken product. The retailer sent out a replacement on 7/8/15.

The consumer wanted to report two hazards with the unit.

First, the consumer stated that when the unit is plugged in, it starts automatically. The consumer stated that if you loose power in between and the unit is left plugged in, it would start automatically when the power returns.

The consumer stated that second issue with this unit is that the on/off button only stops the heat for very short amount of time. The unit turns back on to the previous temperature setting after sometime. The only way to really turn off the unit is to unplug it. The consumer stated that the on/off button can make someone believe that they have actually turned off the power to the unit causing possible fire hazard.

The consumer has spoken to the retailer in regards to the issue. They informed him to follow instructions in the manuel. The consumer stated that the instructions state to “unplug it [the unit] when not in operation.” The consumer stated that the note is mentioned in a small text in between some cleaning instructions.

The consumer will be returning the unit.
