The product, in the report: Smooth-Top Electric Range

This consumer is reporting his smooth-top electric range that began remaining lit sometime around February/March 2017. He finished cooking then turned the element off, however the element would not stop heating and did not turn off until he went downstairs then turned it off and on again. This problem repeated itself a few times after this time and required that he or his wife flip the breaker off then on again each time. October 13th, 2017 the caller’s wife had been cooking, she turned the element off and the breaker off and back on as she and her husband had been doing for months, however the element did not turn off. She tried again but decided to leave the breaker off. The caller and is wife are no longer using the range and they are reporting it as a potential fire and burn hazard and they are also asking that it become recalled. While they were searching for the model and serial number they realized that their range has one model and serial number on it but the product registration book has a completely different model and serial number. He contacted the manufacturer and asked for help but has been unable to locate anyone to speak with them or help them identify the correct model and serial number and he believes that they have no interest. There have been no injuries
