  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 24, 2020, sent to the company Oct 14, 2020, published by CPSC Sep 30, 2020

The product, in the report: electric range with double oven

The consumer heard beeping sounds in his kitchen. The front & rear burners, on the left hand side of the range (if facing it), turned on by themselves. The consumer noted that these 2 burners also allow the oven to vent. Since, the range & oven were in the “off” position at the time this happened, the consumer tripped the breaker, to turn it off.

The consumer has never experienced any problems with the stove, prior to this incident.

6/26/2020: The consumer checked on-line and found that his stove was included in a CPSC Recall# 09-333, but he was never notified about it. The consumer called the mfr. about the recall and he said their rep. confirmed that his stove was included in the recall.

7/3/2020: The consumer received replacement parts (switches & tape), but he noticed that they were identical to what is currently inside the range. The consumer is concerned that if the same exact parts are placed in the range, he’ll be at risk of a fire.

The consumer also pointed out that the venting of the oven come up on the backside of the range, where the switches are. Therefore, moisture can get on the switches in the back of the oven. The firm provided some tape for the switches, but the consumer believes that eventually, he could be at risk of the exact same problem.

The consumer called the firm back and spoke with supervisors & managers, but they were unwilling to provide any additional assistance.
