I found a electric wire was pinched between two sheet metal parts and the insulation was cut through in my GE Monogram cooktop. Model number is ZEU36WMRABG. The issue caused a shock when I tried to lift the cooktop up by pushing the bottom.

The product, in the report: Monogram GE Built-In Electric Oven; Model#: ZET1SH2SS and Serial#: DL606179Q. This is a 30” Single Wall oven, stainless steel exterior.
My 3-year old Monogram GE Built-In Electric Wall Oven (was professionally installed in my 2018 built home); I utilized the self-clean mode and during the cleaning mode the interior glass door of the oven exploded & shattered, and shattered glass was lying on the kitchen floor. I’m a 65-year female; and I had used the self-clean mode in the past with no issues. Thank goodness no injuries to me. I contacted GE complaint department & was advised there weren’t any recalls on my model oven (Monogram Model: ZET1SH2SS, Serial #: DL606179Q). The GE representative advised that GE is aware of this issue, & GE advised they would cover cost of replacement of oven door + cost of the service appointment. I didn’t have an extended warranty on this oven- so I was thankful that GE would cover replacement cost. GE representative stated that it was up to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to ‘order a recall on this product’.

No one hurt Made Jan 12, 2021, sent to the company Feb 22, 2021, published by CPSC Mar 8, 2021
The product, in the report: GE Monogram 48 inch stainless dual fuel range Model ZDP486NDNSS
I purchased a GE Monogram 48 dual fuel range which was delivered and installed on November 9, 2020. While using the oven for the first time some fruit pie filling dripped onto the bottom of the oven. When the oven cooled I attempted to wipe the material gently with a damp soft sponge. This very gentle wiping caused 2 areas (half dollar sizes) of the blue porcelain finish to chip off. I called the dealer and was accused of using tin foil in the bottom of the oven (I did not) and using a harsh abrasive cleanser (I did not). I was referred to GE Monogram customer service and submitted the details and photos they requested. They advised that I run a cleaning cycle and see what happens. After the cleaning cycle I noted that more pieces of porcelain came up off the surface; they are small but very very sharp bits. GE Monogram responded that this is a cosmetic issue and they will not remediate. I asked that the stove be replaced since the oven liner itself cannot be replaced. The porcelain sharp bits continue to come off the surface and have landed on food items. These are sharp and pose a severe physical harm risk if ingested.

The product, in the report: GE 36 Inch Smoothtop Electric Cooktop with 5 Radiant Elements, Bridge Element, Hot Surface Indicators and Control Knobs: Black with Stainless Steel Accents
My wife was boiling two eggs in a small pot on the back left burner. The water began to boil and she covered the pot and turned the burner off. At that moment, the stove exploded! She was facing the stove and miraculously, she wasn’t seriously injured. She received a small cut on her forehead, above her eyebrow and a small cut on the back of her ankle. She also said she had a headache, from the force of the air, she thinks. Both my wife and my 8 yo daughter, who was also in the kitchen at the time, had to shower to try to remove the tiny pieces of glass in their hair and on their faces. I called GE to report the issue. They said they would send a technician this week to take a look.

No one hurt Made Mar 16, 2019, sent to the company Apr 2, 2019, published by CPSC Apr 16, 2019
The product, in the report: GE Monogram Direct Air Convection Built-In Electric Wall Oven Product Number: ZET1SH1SS Serial Number: DF600995Q Color: stainless steel Professionally mounted and installed by home builder Richmond American homes in 2015
Product is GE Monogram Wall-Mounted electric oven. Model ZET1SH1SS; S/N DF600995Q. It was installed in a brand new construction in 2015.
Incident: When using the oven and moving the dial from Low Broil to Hi Broil, we removed food ready from the oven and closed the door. Upon the attempt to open again to remove the second food item, the oven had a big spark, and a made loud and continuous buzzing sound, that of an electric shock. Fire ensued but after closing the door, the circuit breaker tripped, burning pieces of metal fell from the top of the oven to the food on the oven rack. We left the door closed until the fire stopped.
After the oven cooled off, we inspected it and saw that the metal holding the top heat element was burnt and broken. We saw pieces of metal broken on top of the flatbread we were cooking and other pieces that were shot towards the oven door made a small dent in the glass and the edge of the oven door.
This situation could have resulted in large fire as the oven is mounted on wooden kitchen cabinets or body injury considering that the metal that was shot out was so hot that it left chip in a glass and damaged the edge of the door, both designed to withstand very high heat. Should a piece of such metal get in contact with the skin at such velocity and heat, the injury could be devastating.

The product, in the report: Monogram Double Built In Wall Oven Stainless Steel
Bought a Monogram Direct Air Convection Built in Electric Double Wall Oven. It was installed on June 1, 2017 by a professional appliance installer.
The first use of this oven was Saturday Night June 3, 2017. After cooking a baked chicken for dinner, we wanted to try out the self cleaning mode to keep the upper oven spotless. About 1 hour into the self cleaning of the upper oven exploded with a loud noise. Glass was everywhere, fine shard pieces of glass are in the upper oven, bottom oven, and all over the floor. Absolutely furious that this is an acceptable design by GE Monogram and come to find out extremely common.

The product, in the report: GE monogram double wall oven
The upper wall oven became extremely hot and the oven temperature did not correspond to the dialed temperature controls. Suddenly it locked as though cleaning and stayed shut with the food inside despite the the temperature dialed to 300degress and on bake. The control panel above became extremely hot a well. I was able to pull it open but it continued to burn very hotly and smell like a gas leak as well. I live in an over 55 complex of 18 homes built in 2006-2007 all with GE monogram appliances and all of the appliances have had multiple failures my neighbors are now telling me of the necessity to turn off their ovens with the circuit breaker!!! I am a surgeon and don’t see them except occasionally socially so when the fire department and Gas company came last evening I began to hear the collection of bad news of range top failures, multiple repairs to microwaves ,dishwashers and especially oven problems.
