Hurt, care not known Made May 31, 2017, sent to the company Jun 8, 2017, published by CPSC Jul 11, 2017
The product, in the report: Stainless Steel Meile single electric oven 24 inch.
I opened the door of my Miele single electric oven and suddenly, the glass exploded and flew all over the kitchen. I was left with the handle in my hand. One shard of glass hit my face about 1 inch from my eye. The only explanation for this is that possibly, I pulled the door down quickly and the handle broke away from the door. It is a bad design to have the handle set into the glass rather than the metal frame above the glass. Miele said that glass is not under warranty. Yet they paid for the glass while they asked us to pay for the service call. They are lucky as am I, that glass did not get into my eye. Someone else may not be as lucky.
