  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 24, 2025, sent to the company Feb 27, 2025, published by CPSC Mar 13, 2025

The product, in the report: LG Studio 6.3 cu. ft. Electric Slide-in-range with ProBake Convection.

LG Studio 6.3 cu. ft. Electric Single Oven Slide-in-range with ProBake Convection has knobs on front of oven that are easily turned on or turned when on, by children, pets or just while cooking at stove. Have had couple episodes where this happened and melted plastic/silicone utensils and of handles. Had worst episode when came on unknowingly, and plastic knob covers were sitting on stove along with some packets of cocoa mix, causing a lot of smoke in home.

The product, in the report: LG Studio Series double wall oven - electric

The rack(s) in the top oven of my LG double wall oven that had two loaves of bread baking suddenly and without warning fell down spilling the bread out of the oven and propelling the racks outward as well. Fortunately I had on oven mitts and was able to stop the racks from falling off the oven door (where they had come to rest) and coming in to contact with my torso.

Upon checking, I found that NONE of the racks, including racks that fit perfectly in the lower, less used oven would rest securely on the shelving guides. It appears the oven walls have bowed outward which is very distressing since the oven was only purchased and professionally installed in March of 2017. I did use the self-clean function approximately one week ago for the first time and used the minimum time setting (3 hours). The cleaning completed without incident but I did encounter difficulty reinstalling the oven racks back in to the oven after the cleaning cycle and cool down. I was able to get the racks in and verified they glided in and out smoothly so believed there was no problem.

The product, in the report: LG Studio stove slide in purchased 12/2016 at Best Buy in Boise, Idaho.

LG Studio slide in stove purchased at Best Buy 12/2016 is great except for one MAJOR safety issue. The control knobs are in front of the unit and even leaning over to clean the back of stove can turn the burners on HIGH!!! Such an easy fix with making it harder to turn~ why don’t they fix this? Today I almost burnt the kitchen down! If I hadn’t turned back and seen the smoke it would have been too late:(
