The product, in the report: GE Electric Range

I purchased an electric range (Model No. JB630DF4BB; Seriel No. HF248713Q) in May of 2016. On New Year’s eve I set the over to clean according to the instructions, and in approximately 1.5 hours, the exterior glass to the over shattered all over the kitchen floor and surrounding areas. I’ve been in touch with GE and they sent a repairman who explained that since it is out of warranty the service call and part will not be covered. I explained that the same thing happened to one of my coworkers several years ago. He told me to contact the GE representative to discuss it. I’ve just heard back from the GE Rep. and she stated that she forwarded the information to the Safety Department and they determined that it was not a “safety issue” and it would not be covered. I tried to explain that this wasn’t just a thermostat gone bad but that glass shattered all over a room and luckily no one was in the room at the time (especially a small child) or someone most definitely would have gotten hurt.

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
