The product, in the report: LG electric double oven and range slide in unit. Stainless steel and black. LDE4415ST LG LDE4415ST 30” Electric Smooth Top Double Oven Range
We purchased a range/oven LDE4415ST 8 months ago on 1/23/2017. The product is under one year old, we purchased it brand new from Brandsmart USA, Deerfield Beach store. The range is defective, I have video and pictures showing the issues of the knobs easily activating the range with a mear slight bump. Our spices are above the unit, so when we reach up to get a spice, the range has been activated to the high setting. Also, our 11 year old daughter activated the unit on accident while doing dishes and putting dishes away in the cabinet next to the range. We found out after we were all sitting in the family room and could smell something heated- it turned out to be something on the counter next to the element that was heating. On another occasion, while I was cutting vegetables on the counter next to the range, my 2 year old activated the knob by bumping into it. I caught her just in time as she tried to reach up to pull herself nearer to me- her hand was only inches away from getting burned on the accidental activation of the element. Not only have we video documented reenactments of the knob issues with the range, but the oven also overheated during the cleaning cycle. We followed the instructions in the manual, but ended up with a charred oven door- this is documented in pictures. The knobs, even slightly bumped- turns on the range. Each member of my family has accidentally activated the range without meaning to - on one occasion even coming down after sleeping all night to find the unit ON- a great safety and fire hazzard. We have reported that and asked for help by LG. We should not be having issues with a less than year old product- and they should be standing by their “WARRANTY” and allow us to get our money back and take this unit back. We are afraid of the unit at this point. LG has sent a factory rep out to view the unit but the rep was rude and refused to stay long enough. He turned in an incomplete report.
