The product, in the report: Dacor electric cooktop; 5 burners; glass cooktop.
My DACOR electric cooktop has a serious safety issue. There is a safety feature that allows one to turn “off” the controls to the burner elements by applying pressure of one’s finger to the “DACOR” label ... which causes a little light to come on and when the light is “on” the burner controls don’t work. However, I can put ANYTHING on that same spot (for example, a water bottle), and the safety mechanism is disabled - and then the burner controls could indavertently be turned on ... causing a potential burn (if my grandchild touched the unit) or worse ... a fire if something like a box was on the cooktop!!

The product, in the report: Electric Oven
Caller is reporting that the oven that was installed in the home a few years before she purchased the home is having problems. The cleaning cycle was ran at the shortest recommended time of 2 hours and she discovered that after it was completed that the while she was wiping the interior, the porcelain finish was cracked and it had formed needle shaped glass falling from the top of the unit. She is concerned that this can fall into food content while using the oven.
(12/23) The manufacturer was contacted and they advised that because she was not the original owner and they are unaware of how the unit was treated before she got it, they were unable to assist her.
Caller feels that this oven is unsafe and should be reported.
