No incident, no one hurt Made Sep 27, 2026, sent to the company Oct 7, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 22, 2026
The product, in the report: Stainless steel 30-inch slide-in electric/dual-fuel kitchen range and oven. The product features an overhead cooktop and a lower enclosed oven cavity equipped with high-heat cooking elements, internal enamel-coated wall panels, and metal mounting hardware.
The internal cavity lining, heating components, fan blower and structural hardware of our one-year-old oven have experienced severe corrosion, rusting, and deterioration despite normal household use. The extent of the degradation raises a serious and ongoing concern that rust, metal particles, or deteriorated material could contaminate food prepared inside the enclosed cooking cavity and potentially create a risk of physical injury or ingestion.
The appliance was inspected by a Bosch-authorized manufacturer technician on September 4, 2026, under Bosch Case No. [REDCATED]/ IR No. [REDACTED]. The inspection confirmed extensive rust and corrosion throughout the oven cavity and took pictures, noting he has never seen anything like this before.
The affected appliance is a Bosch slide-in electric/dual-fuel kitchen range and oven, Model HDS8055U/06. It was operated exclusively by adult household members for ordinary household cooking and baking and was used in accordance with the manufacturer’s operating and care instructions. There was no misuse, commercial use, or abnormal operating condition.
Although no immediate medical injury has occurred, the severe deterioration of the oven’s internal cooking cavity presents an ongoing food-safety and physical-safety concern. Despite the manufacturer’s technician documenting the extensive corrosion, Bosch has declined to provide an appropriate safe resolution, including a buyback. We are therefore left with an appliance that we reasonably cannot consider safe for continued food preparation.

No one hurt Made Jul 6, 2026, sent to the company Jul 9, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 23, 2026
The product, in the report: Bosch 800 Series, 30-inch Self-Cleaning Convection Double Electric Wall Oven (Stainless)
On June 6, 2026, the two inner panes of glass in the top oven door of my Bosch double-wall oven suddenly exploded approximately one minute after I turned the oven off. I had broiled asparagus for eight minutes, removed the food, closed the door, and turned the oven off. About a minute later, both inner panes shattered violently inside the closed oven. The outer pane remained intact, but the explosion created a loud blast and sent glass fragments throughout the oven cavity, and the kitchen upon opening the door. Fortunately, no one was standing in front of the oven at the time.
I have photographs documenting the damage and debris.
This oven has a long history of defects and repairs, including: - Replacement of the instrument panel - Replacement of door hinges due to improper sealing - Recalibration for uneven heating (which has persisted) - Multiple service visits by the same authorized Bosch servicer ([REDACTED] Appliance Repair) The authorized technician who has serviced this oven for years advised that a diagnostic-only visit is unnecessary because they already know the repair required to restore safe operation (replacement of the shattered inner glass assembly). They did not claim to know the cause of the explosion, only the corrective action needed.
I contacted Bosch immediately. Bosch initially stated they would cover the diagnostic (estimated at ~$300), but refused to disclose the actual cost. Bosch also refused to provide any written commitment to cover repair or replacement if the diagnostic confirms a defect. Bosch acknowledged that the diagnostic is required for Boschs internal documentation and is not aligned with the recommendation of their authorized technician. Bosch further stated that they will not provide any decisions in writing and ultimately closed my case without resolution, despite acknowledging the incident as a potential safety concern.
Because Bosch refuses to: - disclose the diagnostic cost, - provide written commitments, - treat this as a safety incident without first requiring a diagnostic that benefits Bosch, - align with the recommendation of their authorized technician, and - provide a clear path to resolution, I am submitting this report so the incident can be properly documented and reviewed as a safety matter.
This was a dangerous failure involving exploding glass, and it could have caused serious injury and damage had anyone been standing in front of the oven and the door was open.

The product, in the report: Bosch Double Oven
After using the oven, the oven will not turn off. The off button is pressed and the screen shows the oven is off but the fan will keep running all day and all night. The only solution is to switch the circuit breaker to reset the oven. Im concerned this may cause an house fire. Also, during operation when the oven door is opened, the fan blasts hot air into my face. The fan does not turn off when the door is opened. Im concerned this may burn my face. The control panel was replaced under warranty but this has not fixed the problems.

The product, in the report: Bosch 500 Series Induction oven range
After broiling fish in our Bosch 500 Series oven, I turned the oven off. Later that night before going to bed, i happened to walk by the oven and noticed it was very very hot. The touch panel control indicated everything was off but the broiler elements were clearly ON. I pressed the OVEN OFF button on the control panel (even though the oven was off) and nothing changed. I had to turn the unit off by flipping the breaker. The control board was replaced and things seemed to work ok for a while. After cooking one night in convection mode, my wife noticed the convection fan stilling running the next morning even with the control panel indicating the oven is OFF. Had to trip the breaker again. This oven was replaced under warranty. The second oven did the same exact thing. I noticed that if you open the door, look inside quickly and shut the door, the convection fan (and broiler elements) will stay ON even when you press the OFF button on the controls and the oven goes into idle mode. I recorded multiple videos of this failure and sent it to Bosch. Their head of technical support NA (REDACTED) acknowledged the software bug, updated the code and sent a prototype board with the new software. The oven has been working fine since (1/2024). Recently, while talking with multiple Bosch certified technicians, none of these issued have been addressed in any type of Technical Bulletin and no known warranties have been issued. I find the fact that a safety issue was reported to them in good faith and they have buried that information to be fraudulent at the very least. I shutter to think how many people have had this issue and either gotten hurt or paid for repairs that Bosch knew wouldn’t fix the issue.

No one hurt Made Jan 10, 2025, sent to the company Jan 14, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 29, 2025
The product, in the report: Bosch double oven 800 series, Model # HBL 865 1UC/01, FD# 9506003 16, brushed stainless steel, 30”
I used the self-cleaning feature on my Bosch double oven 800 series for the first time ever ten days ago. My top oven was not overly dirty or greasy but I wanted to clean it, and followed the simple directions in the manual. About an hour into the process I heard an incredibly loud crash. The internal glass panel on the oven door exploded and shattered into hundreds of tiny shards inside the oven. I immediately turned off the cleaning feature and let it cool down before carefully opening the door. Some shards of glass fell out onto my floor but most of the shattered glass was contained inside the oven. I was not injured but was badly shaken. It could have been a lot more dangerous if the outer glass panel of the oven door had also shattered since I was standing across from my oven at the kitchen sink when the explosion occurred. I contacted the store I bought my Bosch oven from and was told that, because my oven was no longer under warranty, I would have to pay over $800 for replacement parts which included new glass and a new oven door. When I pointed out that this was either a manufacturer’s defect or flaw in the glass and Bosch should be held accountable, regardless of whether the warranty was still good, the store contacted Bosch on my behalf. Bosch’s response was an immediate rejection. I then contacted the VP of Consumer Services at Bosch through email but have not heard back. This dangerous situation of shattering glass and damaging internal ovens due to self-cleaning has happened too many times to people when I researched on the web. Bosch and other companies need to be held accountable and, at the very least, put warning on the ovens and in their manuals about the potential hazards of using the self-cleaning feature. My hope is that Bosch stands up to its good reputation and credits me for the damages done to my oven.

The product, in the report: Bosch series 800 electric range
On the night before Thanksgiving, an internal sheet of glass on the oven door shattered. Tiny pieces of hot glass was scattered over our kitchen floor. The oven was being used to bake preparations for the holiday at normal temperatures. My toddler daughters were standing by the oven moments before this happened. Luckily, I only suffered small cuts on my hands and fingers from cleaning up the mess. I contacted Bosch and they really had nothing to say for the incident except sorry.

The product, in the report: Bosch 800 Series Combination oven/ Speed Oven HMC90252UC/05 (Model) Manufactured April 2021. Stainless steel combination with full size bottom oven (working) and top speed oven (with burned wires) that is an in the wall unit
We bought new appliances for a kitchen remodel. All came from Bosch. Our speed oven was used for less that 2 years and the panel went blank. We researched the problem online and found others had the same issue. We scheduled repair though Bosch who sent out a tech. He pull out the oven/combination speed oven from the wall and opened up the top to look at the components. The wires at the coinnection to the thermometer were burned. We were lucky that the burned wires in ky resulted in teh system failing and did not ignite into a full blown fire in our wall.
After looking online we found that this is a known problem with the 800 series speed oven and Bosch continues to sell them.
Their “Fix” is to replace the wire harness with the same product without addressing the underlying issue. Other have had this problem fixed only to have the wires burn again. The tech that Bosch sent didn’t even do the repaid properly and put in some wires that he spliced together and I have no confidence that this is safe.

I too had a stove fire when a knob accidently got turned on by me while reaching over range to operate microwave. It was a Bosch stove, and I had a noodle board on top. Went to living room to eat and smelled smoke eventually, whole kitchen and eating area filled with smoke and flames under noodle board when moved startedto call 911 but tried baking soda first. Still some remnants visible on stove top but most scraped off with razor blade. Could not even see stove at that point. l contacted both the appliance store where purchased (Hagedorn’s in Florence KY) and Bosch, who both pointed finger at each other and basically did nothing. Bosch said Hagedorn’s should come see what was wrong with stove, nothing of course except knobs activate too easy, Hagedorn’s said nothing they can do, I now leave the knobs off the stove, but if I sold my house I would have trouble if I told potential buyers, and feel forever guilty if I did not disclose and they had fire and lost home, kids, pets, etc. I had pics and noodle board for long time, but think I finally discarded unfortunately. Took months to get smoke smell out of house. The oven also turns on very easily with slightest bump of stove front, but at least make a beeping noise so I know and can fix right away. It makes me very angry they will not take responsibility. Please help me and other Bosch owners also same as fire set by dog, and [REDACTED] stoves

Oven Capacity, Self Clean, Home ConnectTM, Air Fry, Roast, Warm, Proof Dough, Temperature Probe, Fast Preheat, Sabbath Mode, cCSAus, Star-K, and ADA
I purchased a Bosch Wall Oven and had it installed in December 2023. This ovens panel radiates a heat at a meads temperature of 105 degrees with the oven off. The panels clock was turned off and it still radiates heat. The company says this is normal. NO ITS NOT. They do not advertise that the panel will run at the temperature, especially in Central California where it can get to 110+ degrees in the summer. Thiel have no other response so I feel this needs further investigation by the government

We bought our Bosch 800 series oven in 2020. After Christmas, I decided to clean it. I removed the oven shelves and then pressed the self clean button. The product, in the report: Borsch Oven Range Model PRL304GH
The consumer indicates that his Thermadore oven has a selection for bake and broil. When owner selects broil, in a two selection process. It takes approximately (5) minutes for the broiler to ignite once propane is introduced. Normal ignition time should be 2-3 minutes. Because of this a propane bubble is built up. When broiler finally ignites there is frequently an explosion inside the oven. Sometimes the explosion is strong enough to ‘blow’ the oven door down. Consumer notes that if ignitor was not weak no explosion would occur.
1/20/21 -A representative from Thermadore came to consumers home to inspect the oven range and broiler problem. The inspector looked inside the oven and never took any broiler harnesses off to look at ignitor. The representative informed the consumer that the ignitor was again weak after a past 2&3/4 year replacement. He informed consumer that ignitors should be replaced every three years. The inspector stated that he really did not have to look closer at the problem as this is a frequent happening. That consumer was going on (3) years of use thus needing a new ignitor replacement. Consumer would have to pay out of pocket for any repairs.
Past inspectors, not this one, stated to consumer that he cooked too close to broiler flame. Just an excuse. Consumer notes that the oven racks are factory immoveable. (ie: made to be stationary)
1/21/2020: Consumer set oven to broil and an explosion occurred that was strong enough to lift the stove off the floor for a second.
Consumer noted that the oven explosion happens about 90% of the time when broiler selection is initiated. At times the explosion is small and not forceful. Reason is that the ignition sequence is less than 5 min. Less propane build up. Consumer further states that the explosion only occurs when oven is set to broil, not in the bake mode. Consumer states that the explosions have gotten progressively worse since last new ignition installation 2&3/4 years ago.
After the broil explosions oven works as it should in broiling said food.
Consumer states that the (4) burner cook top is used about three times daily. Whereas the broiler section of the stove is used about three to four times a Week.
Major point: Consumer/ owner of range certifies that the broiler Igniter on this model has been replaced three times before. The oven igniter ,once before, as he recollects.(original oven range Model Number was PR0304EH106.
Enclosed are all past receipts as evidence of past ignitor failures. The range was completely changed about eleven years ago. Written evidence is enclosed.
The consumer plans on keeping this cooking stove described at least for the next 60 days incase an investigation ensues. Consumer urges a recall of total ignition design.

The product, in the report: Bosch double wall oven
Using the wall oven for normal baking, and noticed 2 hours later the fan was still running. Checked the oven, found it was still heating. The oven had been turned off, and the indicator panel showed it was off. Tried resetting, no change. Shut off main breaker. Next day, tried turning breaker back on (supervised). A few hours later, the oven spontaneously started heating - got very hot. Turned off circuit breaker again and kept off, called Bosch for repair. They sent a tech, but Bosch refused to repair the unit/replace the part, saying it was too old. I told their reps I was concerned this was a serious fire hazard, “nothing they could do.”

No one hurt Made Dec 15, 2016, sent to the company Dec 23, 2016, published by CPSC Jan 10, 2017
The product, in the report: Bosch Electric Convection Wall Oven.
This is in regard to an exploding oven door panels on our Bosch electric wall oven, model number HBL8450UC, serial number 921200345, purchased new, and installed on January 28, 2013.
On December 14, 2016 at approximately 5 pm, we were preparing to place a cake into our preheated 350 degree F oven. The door was in the fully open position and my wife was walking toward the oven with raw cake batter in a pan to place it in the oven when the incident occurred.
With a loud bang like a firecracker, the inner glass panel of the door exploded. Glass pieces were blown through the vents of the door panel onto the kitchen floor and inside the oven cavity. Pieces of glass were found up to four feet from the oven front.
The hot shards on the vinyl flooring were swept up immediately. The circuit breaker was turned off. After allowing the door panel and residual glass shards in the oven and door to cool, the door was removed to the garage and the visible glass was swept up. The appliance warranty company was contacted and a case number assigned.
At this point, we are waiting for the service company, LH Brubaker of Mechanicsburg, to call back.
This oven was installed in a newly built house in 2013 and lightly used. We have used the self-cleaning feature only twice, once when it was initially installed.

The product, in the report: 30” single wall oven Bosch HBL8451UC/01
I purchased a bosch 30” single wall oven - model HBL8451UC The surface of the oven overheats with use - self-clean, bake or broil The glass alone can reach 158F (i measured with a surface thermometer for evidence), the control panel gets even hotter. I believe this is a burning hazard. I have 3 children under 4 and their skin can burn at 120F.
I was told by a technician on a prior occasion that this is not a malfunction of my oven but a model problem related to the fan (to be verified), and that the company is aware.
I think this product should be recalled.
I have contacted bosch today regarding this particular issue. I have to wait 2 weeks for a technician to verify the existence of the issue so bosch can think of ways to repair the current appliance... I don’t think that is an adequate answer if the problem is known. People can get burnt.

The product, in the report: BOSCH Wall Oven/Microwave Combo Oven MODEL: HBL5751UC HBL5751U Bosch 500 Series 30” Speed Combination Oven
Bosch Built-in Oven/Microwave Combo was purchased March 2015 from Lowes in Cary, North Carolina. In May 2016, while the oven is turned OFF, the broiler came on by itself. The oven alerted (beep sounds) me, and when I touched the oven handle and panel, it was VERY VERY hot. I immediately turned the power breaker off to cut off any power to the oven. I left the oven OFF and immediately called BOSCH. BOSCH stated they would have an authorized dealer diagnose the issue. Initial dealer that investigated the issue stated it was the “communications board”. He had asked me to turn the oven on to help him diagnose. He said I could use the oven, but “be careful”. A few days later, more burning smell from the oven (I called the fire department) and cut off the power to the oven again. Fire department did not identify the cause of the smell. The initial dealer never returned to complete the repair. I called in a 2nd dealer. When he investigated the oven, he found multiple components had burned down within the appliance, including the board and wires.
This is a very dangerous situation where the oven is catching fire while in the OFF position. If the fire was not contained within the oven, it would have easily spread in the kitchen. My oven sits next to a gas cooktop - making the situation even more volatile.
BOSCH agreed that this is a safety issue, however, once they diagnosed that it a full replace was required, they stopped working with me - sending me to LOWES instead.
I have been without an oven for over 6 weeks with no resolution yet.

The product, in the report: Oven
The first thing I noticed was that the knobs to turn on the oven were too easy to turn and all you have to do is brush the touch pad and it starts beeping. The fact that the knobs are so easily turned is a very big problem for me as my grandchildren live with me. My one year old grandson just turns on the oven with no trouble at all, if I am cooking or cleaning the cooktop I turn on the oven just by leaning over it that’s how easy it is. This is a serious safety issue I have a hard time seeing how this could be all right with Bosch. All they keep telling me is well the oven works, yes the oven works and I am in fear that one of my grandchildren will be seriously burned or a fire can start. There is no child lock on this model oven either.

The product, in the report: Bosch 30” Double Wall Electric Oven
I have had 2 Bosch double wall ovens in the past year- both purchased from Lowe’s, Model # HBL8651UC/01. On both ovens the interior glass on the top oven exploded, the first one only 2 days after using it at Convection Bake 375 degrees, and the second one 6 months after installation on the Self Clean mode. On both occasions, glass spewed all over the inside of the oven and possibly into the Convection Fan. The first oven was exchanged by Lowe’s as it was only installed 2 days prior to the incident. As the second incident occurred 6 months after it was installed, Lowe’s cannot replace the oven. As It Is still under the Bosch 1 year warranty, I want Bosch to replace the oven, as I do not feel safe cooking in an oven which has spewed thousands of very tiny pieces of glass into the cavity and into the bottom oven.

The interior glass on my Bosch oven door shattered on Nov 27 2015 while in the cleaning mode. There was a loud noise and both my husband and I came at the same time from different parts of the house to find glass scattered on the kitchen floor and shattered glass piled up against the inside of the door as well as on the top of the bottom door. I was able to reach around and shut the cleaning cycle off without injury. Nothing has ever been dropped or bumped against the glass on the door. The oven was not very dirty but there was an area on the oven floor that needed to be cleaned so I set it for a short cycle, of 90 minutes, which was the setting that came up when I touched the clean button. The cycle was well past the first hour when it exploded.

My Bosch wall oven model HBN3420uc/01 has failed several times by engaging the broiler element. Two incidents have occurred where the broiler element remained on causing severe overheat >600 deg F temperature requiring the high temp safety switch to engage to prevent a hazard.
When the broiler element has remained on, even opening the door did not turn it off.
I have diagnosed the problem to a faulty relay which intermittently remains stuck in the closed position.

Inspection of the oven revealed that the inner glass of the upper oven had exploded, showering the entire oven with glass. The oven was immediately shut off.
