  1. First aid

Made Jul 26, 2026, sent to the company Jul 29, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 12, 2026

The product, in the report: Brand: Bertazzoni Model Number: PROF304INSBIT Product Type: Premium freestanding residential kitchen oven and cooktop range Fuel Type: 4-zone induction cooktop surface with a high-heat pyrolytic self-cleaning electric oven cavity Size and Dimensions: 30 inches wide, standard counter-depth height of approximately 36 inches, and a depth of approximately 25 and 1/8 inches excluding the control knobs and oven handle. Finish and Aesthetic: Stainless steel exterior chassis and control panel with matching metal control knobs and a heavy-duty pro-style towel-bar door handle. The oven interior features a dark blue porcelain enamel cavity lining. Door Configuration: A triple-glass insulated oven door assembly featuring an edge-to-edge inner glass panel layout and specialized soft-close door hinges.

The oven door on this premium Bertazzoni range model PROF304INSBIT has suffered from a severe factory alignment defect since installation. The top of the door angles permanently outward instead of sealing flush. This structural misalignment creates a severe thermal bypass, allowing intense heat to constantly escape through the top gap during regular use. Whether baking at 325 degrees or using the 475 degree broil setting, this escaping heat has scorched and heavily browned the doors upper metal trim. We have flagged this defect from the very moment we received the oven, and we have asked Bertazzoni many many times over the last year and longer to replace the door assembly entirely. Despite our constant requests and an endless loop of ongoing monthly repairs, they have continuously refused to replace the door. Because the door frame remains under constant twisting stress from the misaligned hinges or chassis receivers, the tempered inner glass panel is subjected to extreme uneven pressure. When the oven is operated, the thermal expansion forces the glass against these structural stress points, resulting in a violent explosion of the inner glass panel. This is the second time the glass has violently shattered out of nowhere. Furthermore, the porcelain enamel inside the oven cavity itself is disintegrating and breaking apart. We have asked them to replace the unit so this failing enamel does not drop directly into our food, but they refuse to help us. They have maintained this refusal even though we provided photographic evidence and received an official recommendation from the authorized repair center stating that the entire unit needs to be replaced. We have four young children in our home, and having a major kitchen appliance violently shower the room in sharp glass fragments while dropping broken enamel into our food is a terrifying, unacceptable safety hazard. This is a recurring, dangerous defect that has turned a 6000 dollar appliance into a physical liability in our kitchen. The manufacturers reliance on temporary monthly service visits has completely failed to fix the underlying structural flaws, leaving my children exposed to an ongoing risk of physical injury.

The product, in the report: Bertazzoni Master Series 30-inch Induction Freestanding Range (Stainless Steel) Also known as Bertazzoni Master Series MAST304INMXE 30” Induction Range with 4 Heating Zones and 4.7 cu. ft. Electric Convection Oven (Stainless Steel)

We have a Bertazzoni range installed in 2022 - well maintained and immaculate. When using the standard bake function at 350* we recently noticed a smell while baking that smelled either like chemicals or wiring /electrical. We immediately turned off the oven, stopped using it entirely and contacted Bertazzoni. We were told it was out of warranty and to contact a 3rd party repair service. The appliance store where we purchased it has a service department. The technician arrived today opened up the bottom of the oven (by removing gasket and screws and bottom metal plate/housing inside the oven - he then found the issue was due to improper placement of internal thermal insulation. The insulation was burning against the element in the bottom of the oven. This internal insulation failure in a non-user-accessible component. This is not only a defect in manufacturing, but a potential fire hazard and huge safety concern!

The product, in the report: Bertazzoni 36 inch induction oven MAST365INMXE

We ordered a Bertazzoni 36 in electric induction oven in July for Appliance Connections. The oven was delivered and installed by Appliance Connections. During the first use, a mild electrocution occurred due to the appliance be wired incorrectly during installation. The left rear burner then stopped working. The front tempered glass of the oven was shattered during repair of the range top. The repairman stated that he had never experienced this and the door was “poorly made”. The door and range top were then both replaced under warranty. After the first use, both the inner and outer tempered glass of the oven door shattered.
