The product, in the report: Anova Precision Oven (120V) - US Plug
I am writing to report a concerning malfunction with the Anova Precision Oven, a product made by Anova. I feel it is necessary to report this issue as it poses a potential fire hazard.
What happened in detail:[RE Let me describe the actual situation step by step. Please take a look at attached “[REDACTED]”; this is a activity log of Anova [REDACTED] app. 1) I used the oven at [REDACTED] on March 28th. 2) The oven started on its own at [REDACTED] on March 29th with the same temperature settings of 168?. 3) I noticed the oven had started and stopped it. 4) Then, I set the oven to 25?, started it, and immediately stopped it to prevent unintentional overheating again. 5) At midnight on March 29th, at [REDACTED], the oven started again and ran for 3 hours and 53 minutes until I woke up to hot air and stopped it again.
- What happened that made you want to report? The electric oven started operating on its own without any user input.
- What type of product(s) were being used? The product in question is the Anova Precision Oven by Anova.
- Who was using the product(s)? The oven is used by my family members in our household.
- How were the product(s) being used? We have been using the oven for typical household cooking purposes, such as baking bread and roasting chicken.
- Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? Fortunately, there have been no injuries to report at this time. However, we are concerned about the potential consequences of this malfunction.
- How did any injuries occur? While no injuries occurred, the oven’s overheating caused the temperature of our kitchen wall to rise. We were able to notice and turn off the oven promptly, but we are concerned that this malfunction could potentially lead to a fire if left unnoticed.
