The product, in the report: An Adora 30-inch Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range (Black), JB710DTBB. It was purchased at Home Depot around October 20, 2011.

I have a GE Adora 30-inch Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range (Black), JB710DTBB. It was purchased at Home Depot around October 20, 2011. This morning, December 12, 2016 at approximately 5:00AM, I set the stove to 300 degrees. I placed 4-slices of bacon in a Calphalon skillet to cook, on the middle rack, mid-way the cold oven. Around 5:45AM there was this strong odor of burning meat. I opened the oven door and black smoke billowed from the oven. I could not distinguish the bacon in the pan. It looked like tar burning. I removed the pan from the oven and used tongs to try and remove the bacon. There was no distinct pieces, just thick sludge melted into the pan. The oven door interior glass cracked.

I cut off the circuit to the range to avoid any more problems. I turned on the exhaust and two ceiling fans to clear the smoke. After an hour the smoke alarm stopped. There is still heavy smoke lingering in the kitchen, and additional smoke throughout the house.

I TRIED TO UPLOAD PICTURES, HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT ALLOW THIS FUNCTION.
