The product, in the report: Whirlpool AcuBake Electric Range Whirlpool AccuBake Electric Range Model No.: RF378LXPB O Serial No.: RR4011497

My husband and I were standing in our kitchen when suddenly the entire front glass door of our Whirlpool AcuBake Electric range completely SHATTERED and rained onto our kitchen floor. My husband and I were shocked as neither one of us had touched the stove. The stove had not been used in at least 2 days.

I contacted Whirlpool regarding this occurrence and was told that this repair would only be covered under the manufacturer if the stove had been purchased within the past 12 months. We purchased our home over a year ago and the stove was already installed in the home.

I certainly believe this repair should be covered by the manufacturer considering the oven was not in use or touched and obviously this is a defect in the product and this occurrence could have caused severe injury. I have three young children and I am grateful that they were not in the room when this occurred. I large piece of the glass door landed on my foot but luckily there were no serious injuries from this incident.
