The product, in the report: Travel turbo steam iron
My sister and I both purchased a travel turbo steam iron from the Premium Outlet mall Las Vegas on Nov 6 2011. I specifically asked about the voyage and using it in New Zealand. I was assured by the salesman and later the “manager” that there was a voltage adapt included and that they sell many of these to Australians and New Zealanders and the product was perfectly safe and able to be used in my country with a plug adapter.
On returning home, I fitted the voltage adapter and a country adapter plug. The appliance started to spark and very quickly acrid smoke came from the steam holes, filing the house with a toxic smell. I immediately unplugged the iron and looked it up on the Internet where I found a complaint similar to mine.
This product is obviously completely unsafe and should not be allowed to be sold to unsuspecting consumers.

The product, in the report: TURBO-STEAM www.turbo-steam.com (website is unregistered) The product is a portable steam iron and there is a patent infringement here:- http://news.priorsmart.com/ad-importers-v-abm-imports-l3qB/
I purchased a ‘Turbo-Steam’ Iron from the Circus Circus shopping plaza in Las Vegas, after seeing a number of the same items for sale in other Las Vegas Malls.
I was assured that the Iron was safe, worked with European Voltage, did not get hot, has a guarantee.
Sadly none of the above is true, the iron sparked when plugging it in, got so hot you were unable to hold it, and it melted.
This product is clearly unsafe and should not be sold the the public.
There is no bar code on the box, the product is made in China
There is already a complaint out there for these irons it would appear.
This product should not be sold in Malls as it is clearly unsafe.
