The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Sep 7, 2025, sent to the company Sep 10, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 24, 2025

The product, in the report: Oliso SmartIron TG1600Pro. pink

The cord to my Oliso TG 1600 SmartIron got stuck between the top of soleplate and the bottom of the plastic iron body bed when ironing. Note this iron is designed differently from different irons and I did not iron over the cord. I unplugged the iron, but when freeing the cord from the hot iron, it required pulling hard on the cord to free it before it melted. During this process, the cord split open and I can now see copper wire. This is a design flaw. The cord should be large enough not to get stuck between the top of the soleplate and the plastic of the plastic bottom of the iron’s body. I have reported this to Oliso.

The product, in the report: It’s the Oliso mini project iron that you can take for quilt and sewing retreats and classes.

the Oliso mini travel iron gets very hot when on. It comes with a sole plate to rest it on but the whole thing gets hot and whatever pad you have under it gets very hot too. It gets so hot it almost burns your fingers when you try to pick it up.

Made Nov 28, 2012, sent to the company Dec 18, 2012, published by CPSC Jan 4, 2013

The product, in the report: This is a home iron

Purchased an iron from this company in March of 2012. By September 2012 the auto-shut-off feature had failed and the iron continued to turn itself back on without any user input - even when all switches were turned to the full off position.

Contacted company twice about replacing this item, as it was under warranty and the potential safety hazard. They have not responded.
