The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach clothes iron Model 14525, Type 1101, Series D3091DA, Intertek 3101155

Hamilton Beach iron Model 14525: Bought 2019, just now using extensively. The electrical cord is directly below the handle it sits on, and is supposed to swivel to the side. The cord stays directly below the handle. When set down, the iron tips over. Grabbed it when it fell over. Fortunately not where it was hot! Very lucky not to get burned. Hamilton Beach response is contact provider of extended warranty. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. This iron is still available.

I have an Iron that blew a hole in the side of the plastic, threw out sparks onto the ironing board causing burnt holes. Luckily no serious damage to life. I contacted Hamilton Beach and they told me they were not interested because the item is outside the US and not sold outside the US therefore cannot, do not want to know. Our stores here in Jamaica are full of the companies products. The label/instruction inside the box and on their website says any problems do not return to retailer but to contact H Beach which is what I have done.

They appear to not want to know or take note of the problem for future use and safety. This could of been serious but customer services have just ignored me. I have asked for my email to be forwarded to management and asked for confirmation this has been done. Various attempts to contact customer services to confirm but C Services are now not responding. I have no other way of contacting the company to warn them of this potential danger, possibly to life and damage to household/goods

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach Durathon Clothes Iron

My Hamilton Beach Iron Type 186, Model 19800 Series A1621DX caught on fire while it was plugged in and turned on. On June 3rd, 2017 I went to use my iron like I normally would do. I plugged the iron into the outlet; turned the iron on and poured water into the dispenser at the top of the iron.

Immediately after which the top of the iron plate began to get real hot. The tiny holes started shooting out the water and the water was spattering on the wall. Then some grayish smoke came streaming out too. Of which caused my smoke derectors to sound off.

Just aproximately 2 weeks prior to this incident. I went to use this same iron at the same location. After I had plugged the iron into the outlet, the red light came on and the iron heated up like normal. After I began ironing the shirt most of the way. Then the iron’s light went off and the light inside my closet blinked out completely.

So I unplugged this iron and plugged it into another outlet inside the same bedroom. The iron’s light came back on and I was able to continue using the iron and complete my ironing. However, the iron had blown the fuse to the previous outlet. I had to reset the breaker inside the fuse panel. I had to run out and buy a new iron. Which is working just fine in that original outlet that the Hamilton Beach iron caught on fire.

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach Model 14210R clothes iron

We have a Hamilton Beach Model 14210R clothes iron. We have used it for a while. My wife went to use it and got a burned plastic smell. I opened it up to find one of the crimp connectors has overheated and burned through its insulation, and began burning through the plastic casing. I have pictures that will show this. Obviously this is a serious issue, as it can cause both fire and/or electrical shock.

The product, in the report: This product is a Hamilton Beach iron type 187.

My Hamilton Beach iron Model 19801 Series A1621DX caught fire while it was plugged in and turned on. On March 12, 2014, I plugged the iron into an electrical outlet, then turned the control settings on and then place the iron on a table while waiting for it to heat up. Three minutes or so passed when I heard a popping sound coming from inside the iron and then saw dark smoke billowing out of the product. I unplugged it immediately but the smoking and continued and the iron appeared to be on fire internally. The smoking lasted several minutes after the iron was unplugged.

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach household Iron

I recently purchased a Durathon Iron Model #19801 Series A2421DX I plugged it in the other day and it was on for at least 30 minutes and it almost burnt my house down. It was throwing sparks and over heating and would not shut itself down like it was suppose to. It filled my house with smoke and luckly I was in the house and was able to unplug it and throw it out the door into the yard. This needs to be looked into before someone else is not so lucky to catch it like I was. I since bought a new iron and it was not a hamilton Beach. I still have the faulty iron if you want to inspect it. My [REDACTED].
