The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: 1. Describe the product Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridge (recalled compact personal skincare/beverage refrigerator with LED lighted mirror door, pink color, subject to CPSC Recall #25-459).

On August 31, 2026, a Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridge (4-liter model, subject to CPSC Recall #25-459) experienced a catastrophic internal electrical switch short circuit while operating on a desk inside a college apartment. The appliance caught fire, resulting in heavy smoke and thermal damage, which activated the commercial building’s overhead fire sprinkler system. Local municipal fire personnel responded to extinguish and overhaul the scene. The incident caused extensive smoke, soot, and standing water damage to personal property throughout the unit (including electronics, clothing, bedding, and cosmetics). No bodily injuries occurred. The appliance, power cord, and origin scene have been preserved.

The product, in the report: Paris Hilton Refrigerator and Personal Beauty Fridge, Mirrored Door with Dimmable LED Light, Thermoelectric Cooling and Warming Function for All Cosmetics and Skincare Needs, 10-Liter, White

    1. What happened that made you want to report? A compact refrigerator manufactured by the company experienced an internal electrical failure and caught fire inside my home. The fire caused significant smoke damage, property loss, and required me to relocate. I later received a recall notice confirming the product had a known defect that could cause fires. I am reporting this incident because the fire created a serious safety hazard and the manufacturer has not properly addressed the hardship caused by the event. 2. What type of product(s) were being used? A compact refrigerator (mini fridge) that was later recalled due to a firerelated defect. 3. Who was using the product(s)? I was the owner and user of the refrigerator. No one else was operating it at the time of the incident. 4. How were the product(s) being used? The refrigerator was being used normally to store skincare products. It was plugged into a standard wall outlet and had not been modified, moved, or misused in any way. 5. Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? There were no direct burn injuries, but the fire caused physical strain, mobility issues, and significant hardship during the emergency response, cleanup, and relocation process. There was also a risk of serious injury or death due to the fire occurring inside the home. 6. How did any injuries occur? The injuries and physical strain occurred as a result of the fire itself including smoke exposure, the emergency evacuation, and the physical demands of dealing with the aftermath, such as moving belongings, cleaning, and relocating due to the damage. The fire created a hazardous environment that posed a risk of more severe injury.

Report update 6/12/26: Incident Summary: The compact refrigerator experienced an internal electrical failure and caught fire while being used normally to store skincare products. The fire caused smoke damage, property loss, and required me to relocate. I later received a recall notice confirming the product had a known defect that could cause fires. Although I did not suffer burns, the incident caused physical strain, smoke exposure, and mobility issues during the evacuation, cleanup, and relocation process.

Attempts to Resolve With the Manufacturer: I have reached out to the manufacturer multiple times beginning in September 2025. I contacted the customer service manager, as well as individuals at the executive level, including the Vice President and CEO, through both phone calls and email. Despite providing documentation and submitting a formal hardship compensation request, I have not received any response or follow up from any department or individual at the company. I am including this information so CPSC is aware of the difficulty I have had in getting the manufacturer to address the incident.
