The product, in the report: This product is an electric and gas RV refrigerator.
I have a Norcold model 1200LRIM refrigerator in my motor home. Upon opening the lower right hand door, the plastic door frame holding the hing broke which allowed the door to fall, injuring my right foot. The hinge on this model is held on by a thin piece of plastic which is insufficient to handle a door this size and weight. This model with doors attached with plastic door frame material is a SAFETY HAZZARD..
I made several contacts to Norcold-Therford, the manufacturer’s who stated that they had not received any complaints, while many complaints have been filed on-line. Also, their non-caring, impatient response was unacceptible.
In a product with a cost in excess of $3,000, should contain a more stable material to attach the doors vs plastic.
This product is very dangerous and could cause serious injury to adults and children.

The product, in the report: Camper Refrigerator
Caller and his wife were camping July 11th, 2014 and were awakened 4:30AM to a very loud popping sound similar to a car backfiring followed by a loud hissing sound. They saw white fumes coming from their camping refrigerator, they opened the refrigerator and flames shot out like gas catching fire. The flames inside the refrigerator were basically full two feet high. He grabbed the fire extinguisher and put the fire out. He states that the fire burned for maybe 15 seconds before he was able to extinguish it.
There are no injuries to report
The caller contacted the manufacturer July 14th, 2014. The dealer has the refrigerator in their possession and is inspecting for possibility of repair.
