The product, in the report: LG French Door, bottom Freezer Refrigerator. Model number LFC21760ST. Purchased in summer of 2006. Label says manufactured in Korea 2006. Very small it also beside the model and serial number is it has this number 38501z21SE

LG Refrigerator Model LFC21760ST. Noticed an electrical smell in the refrigerator and touched the plastic digital control unit that contains the lights. did some troubleshooting and found out the lights do not turn off when the doors are shut. My husband looked a little closer and saw that the plastic is melting. I went on to the LG sight and all they say about lights not turning off when the doors are closed is to call for a service repair. My husband unplugged the refrigerator in fears of a possible fire. I see that others have had the same problem with this. Why isn’t LG and the government safety doing anything to notify and fix this problem. Are they waiting for the appliance to catch on fire and someone is injured or dies?
