  1. First aid

Made Feb 23, 2026, sent to the company Feb 26, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 12, 2026

The product, in the report: Refrigerator (Built-in French door refrigerator) Brand: KUCHT Model: K748FDS Where purchased: Lowes Purchase date: late Nov / early Dec 2022 (approx.) Incident type: Component failure, injury, glass breakage hazard

A refrigerator door pocket/bin assembly failed and detached from the door while loaded with glass condiment jars. The bin fell out, struck my childs foot, and the jars shattered, creating a broken-glass laceration hazard and injury risk. This is a functional failure of a load-bearing interior door component, not cosmetic wear or normal use. We had to complete immediate cleanup of broken glass and address the safety risk in the area.

In addition, the unit has ongoing temperature performance issues, including produce freezing in the refrigerator compartment under normal settings and the freezer/cooling failing to maintain expected temperatures, raising further concerns about product reliability and safety.
