The product, in the report: Kirkland Signature by Whirlpool Corp side-by-side Refrigerator
About June 26th, refrigirator was not cooling, also GIF kicked off. An electrical burn/short smell was around refrig. We tried to restart it thinking it was the GIF. That did not work. We cleaned it out and left it unplugged. Over 4th July weekend after looking for a reason why the refirg would cool, opened the back and found the relay on the side of compressor was discoloured. I removed it and found the electrical wires running to relay melted and the three pins coming out of the compressor have “plastic” melted and burned on them. The relay itself has hole where the compress plugs in. Also the “plastic” of the relay is dried and cracked as if high heat/fire burnt the unit.
