The product, in the report: Insignia - 4.3 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge with Top Freezer and ENERGY STAR Certification - Stainless Steel Model: NS-CF43SS9 SKU: 6173901
In September 2025, I bought a small Insignia refrigerator through Best Buy. On the early morning of May 20, 2026, I heard a loud noise coming from the refrigerator. When I opened the door, I saw that the upper layer tempered glass shelf had shattered. I believed that this refrigerator had safety hazards. I immediately found the purchase record, which was provided after contacting Best Buy, Insignia online and offline, and by phone. The handling result was that after a careful inspection, we believed that the damage was caused by an accidental impact, rather than material or manufacturing defects. Therefore, we regretfully inform you that such damage is not covered by our warranty. Our warranty only covers problems caused by normal use. Furthermore, we regret to inform you that the parts you require are currently out of stock at the parts store. We understand that this might disappoint you. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This cracked tempered glass partition is the top layer. I only placed one plate of eggs, so it wasn’t too heavy and there was no external force causing it. The glass just broke by itself. I would like to ask the relevant department what kind of external force could cause the glass to break into such small pieces. This refrigerator has serious safety hazards. Thank you!

The product, in the report: Insignia 115 Can Beverage Cooler
Ours Insignia 115 can beverage cooler began having a chemical odor in the fridge compartment. This was noticed after my 7 year old son took out a chilled water bottle and became nauseous shortly after taking a drink. All of the items in the fridge have a strong chemical odor. We unplugged the fridge and relocated it outside. The retailer/brand is unable to provide any troubleshooting and is requiring me to transport this defective product that is leaking hazardous, and potentially flammable chemicals, in my personal vehicle to return or exchange the product which could lead to further potential injury.
