The product, in the report: Fisher Paykal Refrigerator
The very heavy metal refrigerator door handle of the Fisher Paykal Refrigerato fell off and nearly hit one of our family members on the foot.
Fisher Paykal Refrigerator Serial Number: AUQ843068 Model #: 522BRE
The refrigerator handle fell off. This handle is heavy and it is metal. It also has sharp ends. Fortunately the handle did not hurt my daughter’s foot or damage my floor. Fortunately a small child did not encounter a dangerous injury. This handle is long and it looks like a weapon. If it falls onto a small child’s head or an elderly person’s foot it could cause serious injury or worse.
This product should be recalled if it is still being manufactured. It is very dangerous.
Fisher Paykal will not take any responsibility for this hazard and they are unresponsive to my requests for resolution. They say the refrigerator is 8 years old and this is what happens after the one year warranty. I find that response to be irresponsible.
