  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 6, 2017, sent to the company Apr 10, 2018, published by CPSC Apr 24, 2018

The product, in the report: EdgeStar Model CBR1501SG, Serial# 17011450052 - Beverage / Wine cooler

Beverage / wine cooler stopped cooling after approx. 6-months of use. I contacted the company (EdgeStar) inquiring about warranty service on the unit. EdgeStar requested that I, as the consumer, inspect a compressor relay area (if I was comfortable - I was). They requested that I access the compressor relay area and remove the cover, remove the relay and shake it to “ see if it rattled “. Upon removal of the cover I notice that the wiring to the relay was burnt / melted ( I did NOT remove the relay ). Per EdgeStar’s request I submitted photographs of the damage.

Subsequently, EdgeStar requested that the unit be returned to them and that a replacement unit would be shipped.
