The product, in the report: This is a whirlpool refrigerator model number WRS325SDHZ08

My refrigerator started emitting a chemical smell that has only gotten worse over time. The smell penetrates all food in the refrigerator, freezer, and even the water and ice that comes from the refrigerator. The refrigerator was purchased in March 2022 and began having the issues in July 2022, only 4 months later on a brand new appliance. All of the food has been damaged, my family consumed some of the food and water assuming that it was safe and unaware that we are likely consuming tainted food that has been penetrated by harsh refrigerants/ chemicals that are not safe for human consumption. Whirlpool has done nothing to properly diagnose the problem. Whirlpool warranty claims the service provider said it was a “rotting meat smell” despite there being no food in the fridge. I contacted the service provider who said they reported no such thing, they reported it was indeed a chemical smell/ non food smell that they are unable to fix. I am at a loss. The refrigerator is now in the garage, unplugged, and the smell is really ongoing now while unplugged. I believe the refrigerator had some filtration while plugged in and now that it is unplugged, it is clear that this is something really wrong and unsafe with the unit. I am unable to get rid of the unit at this point and had to purchase another fridge while I deal with whirlpool warranty. The new fridge has no issues at all. Whirlpool insists they are not to blame and there is nothing wrong with the unit. Is unwilling to even try and diagnose the issue beyond their local service providers surface level diagnostics. I am fearful for my family and other families who have had to deal with this with this unit. Model number is WRS325SDHZ08. Serial number is HRB0508778.
