The product, in the report: Ninja professional food processor with auto insurance bn600 series

I purchased a Ninja professional food processor. On 9/26/2025. The purpose for the purchase was to puree food for my 3 month old baby. I decided my purchase by observing the labeling on the box in the store. Considering what I needed the product for it seemed sufficient for the task. I brought the product home. That day I looked at the packaging a 2nd time looking for any warnings prior to opening. The only thing observed was fruit vegetables cookie dough and individual parts of the product. I proceeded to open and then read the instructions. Included is a quick start guide, owners guide and a food prep, dough making 101 one page guide. The first 2 materials that I read were the quick start guide and the owners guide. With in contents there are warnings that the product contains sharp objects. It is not cleary depicted that it can cut body parts off. I did not have a clear warning of it slicing human flesh. The illustrations and recipes only depicted fruits vegetables and cookie dough. My blade was sitting in my strainer drying not oscillating. I simply added an object to my strainer. Thats when the tip of my little finger along with the nail was severed off. None of the pictures or recipes included elude to the fact the blade is sharp enough to handle meat. Excersize care when handling blade under before first use does not explain clearly why. Are we Excersizing care to avoid damage of product? Again #3 blade being sharp. Does not say or illustrate the severity of sharpness. Even giving a warning of lacerations. A piece of paper can cause lacerations. This injury i received is more severe. The blade severed the tip of my finger off.

The product, in the report: Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System, 1400 watts. This set contains a base unit, 2 smoothie cups, food processor container, and 72 oz pitcher.

I was using the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System to make smoothies. I smelled an unusual smell that smelled like something burning. I didn’t see any smoke or any indication of a problem with the unit and thought the smell might be coming from outside my house. I served the smoothies to my 2 sons. One drank the smoothie; the other said it did not taste good. When I smelled his smoothie, it smelled like the same burning smell I smelled while making them. I put water and a few ice cubes in the Ninja smoothie container, put it in the base, and turned it on. I was shocked to see the water turn blackish with sediments of a black substance. I am very concerned because one of my sons drank the smoothie that had this substance. I kept the smoothie container that has the water and black substance, hoping it would be analyzed to determine what it is. The first week of November, when this occurred, I immediately contacted the Shark/Ninja company. The customer representative I spoke with told me they were going to expedite a return call to address my concerns and that I should hear back within two days. I did not hear back that week. The following week, I contacted the company again. Again, I was told they would expediate a response and that I should hear back within two days. It has now been four weeks, and I have not heard back from anyone at Shark/Ninja. My concern is that something from the machine entered the container and contaminated the contents of the smoothies I prepared. I am very concerned that this substance may have entered other food that I have prepared in the unit. I am also very concerned that this could happen to someone else. I offered to send my unit and the container that has the water and black substance to Shark/Ninja, but they have been unresponsive. During the second call, they did offer to send me another unit, but I would never take a chance using this appliance again. I hope that someone can help determine what this black substance is and whether it could harm my son’s health.

The product, in the report: Ninja Professional Food Processor BN600

I just purchased this machine at Walmart on Saturday. After removing the machine from the box and setting it up, I started slicing up cucumbers for making pickles. The first batch sliced perfectly, though in the second batch, as the bowl filled with sliced cucumbers, there was a loud knock and shattered plastic. I immediately shut the machine down and found that the pusher had been hit by the blade. I had to dump out that batch and because I was already underway I re-sharpened the blade and continued keeping an eye on the food level so I could complete the job. I made a video that shows the damage -> [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Ninja BL687CO-30 Auto IQ Model BL687CO-30

I own the Ninja BL687CO-30 IQ Auto-Boost Food processor and have uncovered an extremely serious, incredibly dangerous situation of which Shark Ninja Corporation could be held liable. The food processor bowl for this unit is connected to the base with 3 nuts and a one bolt. There is a star shaped plastic adapter that is glued to the bolt to cover these bolt/nut connection. Two out of the three nuts on my unit have completely severed/been split in two from the bolt, putting the consumer at risk of digesting shards of metal from the nuts or the nuts themselves which have been disconnected from the bolts.

The product, in the report: Ninja Super Kitchen System BL780

While using the Ninja bl780 a Super Kitchen System to chop up cauliflower a piece of the 64 oz bowl flew off the bowl. Food started coming out the hole. The bowl has 4 indented place in the bottom, one of these indented parts is what broke off. I call ninja and reported it. They said they would send me a new one. I told them it was unsafe and they said it was user error. I asked them to replace it with a different safer product and they said, no.

The product, in the report: Ninja express chop NJ100 series food processor.

My mother in law bought a Ninja NJ100 series express chop food processor (NJ100GR 30). On opening the product to set this up, prior to any use, the blade slipped and cut the back of her hand below her thumb knuckle, severing an extensor tendon (I believe the extensor pollicis longus tendon). Fortunately we were able to see an ortho hand surgeon quickly and this was surgically repaired within a few days. She is working on rehab now and should regain full functioning of the thumb, but has not yet - currently she cannot extend the thumb. The product contains a flyer that says “caution: open with care, contains loose SHARP blades.” but this seems insufficient as one is already opening the product before one can see this and it is among several other pieces of paper one may not know to look at prior to inspecting the equipment. My mother in law is very competent and watches our two young children during the day, I feel strongly this accident was not due to any negligence or aberrant behavior on her part. As a physician I feel obligated to report significant safety incidents I know about as I would with any drug I gave.

Made Jul 30, 2013, sent to the company Aug 7, 2013, published by CPSC Aug 21, 2013

The product, in the report: Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500. 1500watts , 2 Horsepower. Professional performance food processor, blender, single serve juicer/blender and XL blender.

I purchased the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 8 Cup Blender in June of 2013. Recently I decided to use the food processor for the first time so I removed it from the box. After removing the plastic wrapping and the sticker from around the food processor I pressed the lid release button that holds the lid to the food processor on. The lid wouldn’t open up easily so I tried to use both thumbs to apply more force to the release button. As I did that, the lid came off, the food processor fell on it’s side on my kitchen counter, and the food processor blade came rolling out of the food processor, right on top of my left foot. I immediately fell to the floor, with intense pain (as I could no longer stand up) and my kitchen floor became covered in blood.

The blades in the food processor were not packed in securely like the blade in the blender was. It literally was just sitting in the food processor unsecured. The blades in the food processer were not secured properly and I was completely unaware that the blades were exposed in that manner.

I was rushed to the emergency room and received treatment which included wound irrigation, Tetanus shot, antibiotics shots, multiple anesthesia shots directly around the wound area. The end result was 6 hours of emergency room and hospital time, 16 stitches in my left foot, a completely severed tendon to my left toe that had to be reattached, and loss of feeling in the foot and several toes. I am on crutches for the next 4 to 6 weeks, then in a cast/walking boot, and after that headed for rehabilitation to insure that I’m able to walk correctly after all of this heals according to my Dr.
