The reports, as CPSC published them

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Ge Food processor. Model 169203. It is on your web-sight “Walmart Recalls GE food processors due to laceration and fire hazard”

I was assembling my GE food processor to use it. It turned on (with out the safety lid installed) both my left middle and ring fingers were cut by the spinning blade. I ended up in the emergency room. I later found out this processor manufactured by GE and sold exclusively by Walmart was faulty and known to do this.

The product, in the report: GE brand for Walmart food processor model 10662f. It’s white, four-speed.

My food processor turned on as soon as plugged in without the lid being attached. The safety lock clearly malfunctioned. This has been a known issue with other GE food processor models, but this one hasn’t yet been recalled. I sustained a deep flesh wound to my index finger. It’s a GE for Walmart brand, model 106622f

Made Feb 17, 2016, sent to the company Mar 21, 2016, published by CPSC Mar 10, 2016

The product, in the report: GE digital, 14-cup food processor that is black with stainless steel trim.

The inner pieces that lock the lid to the main body disintegrated while the unit was shredding, and continued to run while the lid began to rise up. I do not have a receipt for this unit. I purchased it about 5 years ago. It has sat on a shelf, in a box, for many years before being used. I have used it about 10 times in 5 years. I did not know there was a recall until a few days ago when the lid locking pieces broke off into the food. While searching for a replacement lid, I found the recall notice. On 02-17-2016, at 9:48 a.m., I called Walmart in Decatur, IL (217-864-6927). I was told that since the recall was (according to them) 6 years ago, they can’t do anything about it. That’s when I told them that I’ll be contacting someone who will, as this is still a “recall” item. I failed to get the woman’s name.......

The product, in the report: GE home food processor

I was chopping carrots and sweet potatoes in the food processor. It quit working. I took off the lid, cleared food from beneath the blade. As I was reseating the blade, the machine came on badly injuring my hand.

My safety concern is for others like myself who believe a food processor will not operate when disassembled. I have never operated a food processor (this one included) that would come on with the lid off.

The product, in the report: black with silver GE Food processor

I was removing the blade from the food processor in order to remove the chopped zucchini. The lid was removed and as I reached for the blade it came on causing lacerations, broken bone, tendon cut into. Resulting to surgery on index finger and stitches to another finger. Index and middle fingers both were cut to the bone. The processor was suppose to have a safety feature that would not allow it to turn on if the lid was removed. Clearly that malfunctioned.

Made Dec 3, 2012, sent to the company Dec 31, 2012, published by CPSC Jan 15, 2013

The product, in the report: GE brand (bought at Walmart) 14-cup food processor. Model number 169203. Black base with silver trim. White plastic chopper blade and center post. Clear plastic food base and lid.

I have a GE brand Food Processor bought at Walmart a year ago or so. It is 14 cups and model number 169203. I have been having trouble with the plastic parts of the processor chipping off and getting into the food product, putting my family at risk for ingesting plastic shards. I had this happen right when I got the unit and then was careful to watch for additional chips and not use that food. Yesterday the plastic post that the chopper blade seats down on failed and put lots of little plastic shavings and powder into the food. This is a repeating problem so yesterday I searched the internet for the modle and found that it had been recalled for a different propblem, but I thought you should be aware of the food contamination issue as well. I wonder how many times I missed very small plastic chips getting into food?

The product, in the report: Food Processor - 14 cup capacity with extra large chute

Food Processor worked fine for a few months....I did not use it alot as it was my first food processor. One day, about the 8th time I had used it, it began to have a burning smell, then began to smoke. I turned it off and removed the bowl and there were metal shavings everywhere and the square piece that it sits on was more rounded like pieces of it had been shaved off. The processor will not work anymore as I assume something maybe burned out?

I set it in my pantry and forgot about it until today when I was cleaning out pantry. I went online intending to write a bad review of the product on the Walmart website, where I got it, and found out that it had been recalled.

The very first time I used my GE Food Processor (model number 169203) that I bought from Walmart, As I was emptying the chopped food out of the main plastic holder, the blade fell out of the container and directly on my thumb. It sliced my thumb just above the joint connecting to my hand so deeply that I was afraid I had cut my thumb off. I did not have to go to the hospital and it stopped bleeding after several hours, but I still have a pronounced scar on my thumb. This happened around March 2011. I think the blade should have snapped in place and not fallen out of the machine. I have only used it one other time since and now we are returning it due to the recall.
