The product, in the report: Nostalgia Electric “Retro Series” electric ice cream maker
Product is a Nostalgia Electrics “Retro Series” electric ice cream maker. With this product, the lid/motor assembly screws onto the base counter clockwise. The machine also churns counter clockwise. While trying to churn my first batch of ice cream I heard the lid separate from the machine and begin to spin on top of the machine. By the time I ran into the kitchen to turn it off, the machine had spun enough to pull the cord into the bowl assembly and reeled the cord into itself like a fishing reel. Once it reeled enough cord inside itself, the machine pulled itself a couple feet across my counter and fell into my kitchen sink. Had my children been doing dishes as the time this electrical appliance walked itself into my kitchen sink, the unthinkable would have happened. All they had to do was have the lid/motor assembly locked onto the base in the opposite direction of the machine rotation, this would never have happened. In my opinion, this machine needs to be pulled from shelves before someone gets seriously hurt or electrocuted.
