The product, in the report: Automatic Electric tea kettle, 1.7 liter capacity, glass lined insulated pot, 6 temperature selections. Currently sold at [REDACTED]. It is also sold at [REDACTED]. We purchased ours from Costco a few years ago.
We have a electric tea kettle that has a stainless steel filter (screen) in the spout that is reinforced with plastic. Over time steam has eroded the plastic and I assume the plastic bits ended up in the tea water. Along with that when the plastic reinforcement fails it allows pieces of the stainless steel screen to separate and also end up in the tea water. The steam has also eroded the plastic in the lid of the tea pot and I assume the bits of plastic also end up in the tea. I doubt the plastic is healthy and I know for sure that the bits of stainless steel definitely not good in the digestive system. As this happened over time the date for when this happened is when we first became aware of it. I have pictures and also have the pot and strainer.
