The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 24, 2026, sent to the company Aug 31, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 15, 2026

The product, in the report: Product: Sekaer Travel Electric Tea Kettle Portable Small Mini Coffee Kettle, with 4 Variable Presets, Personal Hot Water Boiler 304 Stainless Steel with Auto Shut-Off & Boil Dry Protection, SY-618G Color: Green

I used the Sekaer Electric Kettle to warm up water for my tea. When the kettle beeped that the water was finished warming up to 212 degrees, I went to open up the kettle. When I did water and steam splashed onto my left hand between my thumb and pointer finger. I immediately ran my hand until cold water, but I ended up getting a burn. This was the second time that this happened. I wanted to report this because I want to make sure the products that are sold are safe for use.

The product, in the report: Travel Electric Tea or Coffee Portable Kettle - Black 304 Stainless Steel with 4 Variable Presets for Boiling Water - 380ml

RE Product Safety Warning Number: 26-558 about Sekaer kettle. I too experienced scalding when I first started using the product. The unit does not shut off at set temperature. Since then, I never put the cap on, so that steam does not build up, and I could monitor the water boiling to shut it off manually.
