The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Jul 25, 2017, sent to the company Aug 2, 2017, published by CPSC Aug 23, 2017

The product, in the report: 32 Oz. Electric Hot Pot-45805

I’ve burned myself while pouring boiled water from Proctor Silex Hot Pot, 32 Oz. Electric Hot Pot-45805. Medical treatment was not necessary. The hot pot has vents on the top, immediately adjacent to the handle. When pouring, steam exists the vents and contacts the user’s hand. I don’t understand how the product made it past the manufacturer’s safety test, or how it obtained UL approval.

The product, in the report: 1ltr electric kettle

We have a Proctor Silex 1ltr electric kettle. The power cord that plugs into the unit is separating exposing the wire. This kettle has had very little use and we always leave the cord plugged into the unit so the wiring should have not separated so easily because it not pulled or pushed on ever. The model is K2070 and the s/n is A4060CE. I spoke to Proctor Silex and they said it was out of warranty and didn’t seem concerned that it was a safety issue. I disagree.
