Dear Ovente Customer Service Concern Department:
I wanted to first email you to determine what type of response you will supply me regarding this profoundly serious matter.
Scalding Incident on Thursday, 12/22/2022 @ approximately 9pm PDT. As I was pouring the hot water in my hot beverage mug, the leaking hot water – from the Ovente Electric Kettles Model #: KP72B scalded the top and sides of Left Foot.
It was caused by an inadequate top seal, while pouring the 212 degrees Fahrenheit – 100 degrees Celsius rapidly boiling hot water. Instead of pouring through the center spout the boiling water came out from all around the top seal.
Luckily for me, I was wearing leather shoes with socks. My left foot was drenched in this 212-degree Fahrenheit – 100-degree Celsius intensely hot water. I had to immediately take off my shoes, as my black cotton socks had absorbed a lot of the water. It was quite a frightening experience, as I live alone. Therefore, I am always extremely careful when cooking or pouring hot water.
This “Superficial Epidermal Scalding Burn” was A HAIR’ BREADTH from an immediate trip to the emergency room for second (2nd) or third (3rd) degree burns. Question: Would you reimburse me for any medical costs I might have incurred?
Please do not inform me that I am the first customer who has ever mentioned this serious design flaw in the Ovente Electric Kettle. One experience and example are quite enough. I will not post an Amazon Review or post a video on my YouTube Account, until I receive some feedback and communication from you.
I will wait for your timely and prompt response. I am aware that we are all now in the activities which surround Christmas through New Year’s Eve. I still expect a timely response. I will gladly send you a video of how the Ovente Electric Kettle responds to pouring. Your professionalism, solution-oriented approach, and support to my scalding experience and Ovente Electric Kettle spout and top seal pouring concerns will determine what my next steps will be:

No one hurt Made Jul 9, 2022, sent to the company Jul 15, 2022, published by CPSC Jul 29, 2022
The product, in the report: Ovente Electric Kettle Hot Water Boiler 1.5 Liter BPA Free Borosilicate Glass Fast Boiling Countertop Heater with Automatic Shut Off & Boil Dry Protection for Tea Coffee Milk Noodle, White KG83W [REDACTED]
Used item to heat water as intended. Hear a cracking sound and noticed that the plastic trim at the base had cracked allowing water to seep into the heating element area. This can create a short or allow corrosion to degrade the heating element. Also in some cases water inside the base prevents the unit from properly turning off.

The product, in the report: Intertek OVENTE electric tea kettle model KP728R
We purchased this electric teak kettle some 3-4 yrs ago. It has had very little use. The model # is KP728R and it is a chocolate brown plastic unit. I walked by it the other day and just happen to touch the unit and it was extremely hot and it had not been in use for days. The on/off switch was set to OFF. I asked my wife if she had used it and she replied in the negative. I left it plugged in and the next day I touched it again and it was again, extremely hot as though it had just been used to boil water. Worried that it may cause a fire I unplugged the unit. We will not use it again as we are afraid that it cold short and cause a fire.

Not said Made Oct 11, 2016, sent to the company Oct 19, 2016, published by CPSC Nov 2, 2016
The product, in the report: Ovente KG83o electric kettle, orange
I noticed a clicking sound coming from my Ovente KG83o model electric kettle. The kettle’s switch was off, and hadn’t been used in many days. I felt the kettle and it was warm to the touch, not hot, but warm enough to be uncomfortable to touch.
Since the kettle has been unused for days and the power switch was off, I feel this is a safety issue, possibly a fire issue.
