The product, in the report: Electric kettle
The consumer turned on the kettle and during one of the uses in 2021, and after the water began to boil, the lid flipped open on its own. It has a push button lid and it can pop open by itself.
1/30/2022: The same thing happened again. No injuries
The consumer called the manufacturer and reported the problem. The firm’s rep. (name unknown) called her back and asked for proof of purchase. The consumer provided the requested information to the firm. She was then told that it was outside of the 12 month warranty and they referred her back to the dealer.
The consumer is extremely concerned that someone could be scalded if water flew out of the kettle, when the lid popped open spontaneously.
