No incident, no one hurt Made Apr 12, 2026, sent to the company Apr 16, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 30, 2026
The product, in the report: MAGIC ITAKI SHABUKI POT
Purchased what was advertised as a portable induction cooker (MAGIC ITAKI SHABUKI POT) from Itaki Co. (itakico.com). What I received was an extremely cheaply made appliance that did not claim to comply with any relevant safety standards in the US. It is not an induction cooker as advertised, it contains a traditional heating element and has no form of over-temperature protection and is not constructed with adequately heat resistant materials. When plugged in and turned on with nothing inside it, there is a burning smell and the plastic case becomes too hot to touch in minutes.
