The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Formula Ready glass kettle

About 5 months ago we purchased Formula Ready water kettle to use to heat the water for our babys formula. It worked fine for those months but on March 8th we noticed there was a residue inside the kettle on the heating plate every time we boiled it, despite cleaning it. The company replied to my initial email, saying that black residue is normal and to simply clean it. I replied saying it was not black it was white and was flaking off into the water (we are unsure if our child drank these flakes before we noticed it), and they did not respond. I sent a follow up email and the company blocked me. I am concerned about what this residue could have been.
