The product, in the report: Dash electric tea kettle DEK001RD enamelled red electric tea kettle with stainless interior
Dash Electric tea kettle model DEK001RD
Owned the product about two weeks, as of a few days ago lid latch no longer latches properly. Numerous people in Amazon note the same problem. When this happened boiling water splashes out of unit as auto shutoff doesn’t work with lid not fully closed, didn’t realize it happened until I heard the unit had not shut off. Unit continues boiling sometimes spewing water out unless manually shut off. This could says burns, a fire hazard, a shock hazard amongst other things. I happened to catch it while it was open and pull the plug to avoid getting burned. Unit boils water forcefully enough that It spews out water even if only filled to the max fill line and the lid pops open
