The product, in the report: Courant 1.7 Liter Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle
I purchased a Courant 1.7 Liter Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle. I’ve used electric kettles in the past and noticed this one behaves differently with the auto shutoff feature. There are two flaws with the design:
1. when the kettle it removed from the base while it is still heating it does not trip the auto shutoff. If you then empty the kettle and put it back on the base it is still turned on.
2. The boil dry auto shutoff does not seem to work correctly. It turns the unit off with a click but the switch seems to be in the middle (ie not completely off) and seems to cycle between off and back on again. The result is the kettle gets hot, though not hot enough to cause a fire.
